USA - MOSCOW
Depart today on an overnight jet flight to Moscow (flight not included).
DAY 2 Saturday
You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is free for independent activities and meeting your fellow travelers.
DAY 3 Sunday
Moscow, one of the largest cities in the world, is the symbolic heart and soul of the country. Sightseeing begins at Red Square, dominated by St. Basil’s Cathedral and the massive red walls of the Kremlin. We visit the Armory; then proceed to see Moscow University and the popular Arbat shopping district. Drive on wide boulevards and stroll through GUM, the largest Russian department store. The balance of the day is at leisure.
DAY 4 Monday
MOSCOW - NOVGOROD (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After an early breakfast, we depart for Tver, an ancient trading port nestled against the banks of the Volga. The city offers fascinating treasures, including Putevoy Dvorets, built for Catherine the Great as a stop-over on her journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg. We end the day in Novgorod, founded almost twelve centuries years ago.
DAY 5 Tuesday
NOVGOROD - ST. PETERSBURG (Breakfast, Dinner)
Our morning sightseeing tour of Novgorod starts at the Kremlin with a visit to St. Sophia Cathedral in the citadel. Cross the river over a pedestrian bridge to visit Yaroslav Court. In the afternoon, travel north to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival, enjoy a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress and St. Isaac’s Cathedral.
DAY 6 Wednesday
ST. PETERSBURG (Breakfast)
There are not many cities in the world that can match the grace of St. Petersburg. When Peter the Great founded the city in 1703, he hired Europe’s best architects, craftsmen and artists to build and decorate it. Spread over 100 islands linked by over 600 bridges, it is often referred to as "Venice of the North”. The morning sightseeing tour will feature the world-famous Hermitage which houses many art treasures from the Czarist era. The balance of the day is at leisure.
DAY 7 Thursday
ST. PETERSBURG - TALLINN (Breakfast, Dinner)
We continue our journey to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, situated on the southern coast of the Bay of Finland. This is an old town with typical, narrow medieval streets, towers, town walls, Gothic churches, merchants and manor houses from the 13th to 17th centuries.
DAY 8 Friday
TALLINN - RIGA (Breakfast, Dinner)
Our morning sightseeing tour of Tallinn features the Town Hall, the orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Toompea Castle. We then travel to Riga, capital of Latvia.
DAY 9 Saturday
This morning we visit Riga Castle, housing the Pioneer Palace and th e Museums of History, Art and Literature. The afternoon is at leisure.
DAY 10 Sunday
RIGA - VILNIUS (Breakfast, Dinner)
In the morning, we drive to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
DAY 11 Monday
St. Peter and Paul Church with over 2,000 statues and reliefs, Upper Town with Gedimas Tower and Vilnius Castle are highlights of our morning sightseeing tour. The afternoon is at leisure.
DAY 12 Tuesday
VILNIUS - WARSAW (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
We bid farewell to Lithuania and cross into Poland. At day’s end, we reach Warsaw.
DAY 13 Wednesday
Your sightseeing tour includes a drive along the famous Royal Route from magnificent Castle Square to Lazienki Park and Palace. Pass by the Palace of Science and Culture, the Saxon gardens, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto and the Barbican. Continue with a walking tour of Old Town, Market Square and St. John’s Cathedral. Use the balance of the day for shopping or attend an optional late afternoon Chopin concert.
DAY 14 Thursday
WARSAW - KRAKOW (Breakfast, Dinner)
Captivating scenery unfolds before us on our journey to Krakow via Czestochowa, Poland's pilgrimage center known for the blackened picture of St. Mary popularly called the "Black Madonna". In the afternoon we drive to Auschwitz, site of the infamous concentration camp.
DAY 15 Friday
Wawel Castle, St. Mary’s Church, the Renaissance Cloth Hall and other historic landmarks are included in our morning city sightseeing tour. The afternoon is free for independent activities.
DAY 16 Saturday
KRAKOW - PRAGUE (Breakfast, Dinner)
After a drive through the Polish countryside, we cross into the Czech Republic. Then it’s on to Prague, with its Baroque churches, promenades, parks and ancient city walls.
DAY 17 Sunday
A morning sightseeing tour takes us to the Royal Castle of Hradcany and the old part of town to view the Jewish Ghetto, see the astrological clock and tour other sights of this captivating city. The balance of the day is at leisure.
DAY 18 Monday
PRAGUE - VIENNA (Breakfast)
Today’s destination is the "City of the Waltz”, Vienna, one of Europe’s loveliest capitals.
DAY 19 Tuesday
VIENNA (Breakfast, Dinner)
On our morning sightseeing tour, visit the Hofburg, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. We also view the Belvedere Palace, Prater amusement park, the UN building, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other vivid reminders of the city’s imperial past. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 20 Wednesday
VIENNA - USA (Breakfast)
After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport, where you board your home-bound flight.
